The Fretless has expanded the idea of what a string quartet can be, transforming fiddle tunes and folk melodies into intricate, high energy arrangements. Their ensemble of two fiddles, a viola, and a cello produces a rich, multi-layered, and distinctive percussive sound that redefines contemporary folk music.
The Fretless' 6th full-length studio LP ‘Glasswing’ represents the band's most vulnerable, introspective and transformative album to date. 7 entirely new original instrumental pieces and 3 songs co-written with (and performed by) Madeleine Roger make up the culmination of the band's 12-year journey to date, and an album that we're all immensely proud of.
